Manon, volunteer TECHO from France, did her internship experience in our office in Costa Rica.
During her experience, Manon managed from scratch a crowdfunding campaign "Parce que chaque goutte d'eau compte", raising more than expected.
With these funds, Manon was able to build emergency housing in the Alto San Blas community.
"The house is made of wood and has a useful life of about 10 years. The house is a one-room house and is placed on stilts to protect it from the weather.
It is prefabricated, so it can be assembled quickly. The beneficiary family is composed of 4 members:
Hannia, 47. She works as a domestic servant; Her son Dereck, 24, who works as a barber and Uber driver.
Miguel Angel and Lidieth, the grandparents, both 80 years old. On the weekend of August 26, 27 and 28, 40 volunteers from TECHO and 7 families from the community of Alto de San Blas came together to help the children. Among them, the one funded by my crowdfunding campaign.
After two days of work and despite the rain, everything went well and Hannia, Dereck, Miguel Angel and Lidieth can now enjoy their new home. Once again, I want to thank everyone who participated in the financing and construction of this home. Thank you!"
